NOTE: version for left-handed golfers (Right-handed pictured)
In the 2023 golf club collections, we see that almost all relevant top brands are making their woods consist of more and more Carbon to improve weight and balance in the clubheads. So has the Cobra AeroJet fairway wood collection, available in three variants. Partly because of this, both power and forgiveness have improved. Equally important is the application of Hi-Tech like the PWR-Bridge, PWR-SHELL, and PWR-COR innovations to also maintain stability and control. As a result, golfers with a mid and somewhat lower handicap can appreciate this 'neutral Cobra AeroJet fairway wood version the most: the perfect combination between forgiveness, control, and power.
The technique
In recent years, Cobra has set the bar very high when it comes to creating a lot of launch power because hitting easily far is now important. To therefore maintain stability in the strokes, the new, metal PWR-Bridge is built across the clubhead.
In addition, the PWR-COR Technology provides Cobra with an ideal weight distribution that ensures higher ball speed and even more forgiveness. In this 'neutral' AeroJet version, this is made visible by a weight integrated centrally at the back of the sole. This makes its ball flight neutral, ideal for golfers who are fine with a mid-high ball flight and seek the best possible balance between forgiveness, control and power. In addition, the HOT-Face Design is responsible for a larger sweet spot and therefore measures ideal ball speeds over a larger hitting area. Not only is this good for more stability, it also reduces the risk of swinging off not-so-clear balls. The crown is made entirely of super-strong but also very lightweight carbon, which lowers the centre of gravity. Technically remarkably well done.
Three different versions... which one will you choose?
Within the AeroJet fairway woods, you can choose from three different versions, depending on requirements and level of play. The Cobra AeroJet Max fairway wood is the most forgiving version of the three. In doing so, it produces a slightly higher, predictable ball flight and, by means of an extra weight in the sole, it has the ability to promote a Draw and/or suppress an unintended Slice. Then there is also the Cobra AeroJet LS (LS stands for 'Low Spin') for the intermediate and advanced golfer who wants a flatter, as far as possible ball flight with more feel to position the ball in the process. Finally, this 'normal' AeroJet version is the golden mean for golfers looking for both a lot of forgiveness and a not-too-high ball flight. Even though we are talking about details here, differences become clearer as the level of the golfer using it increases. The fairway woods from this AeroJet series are equipped with Cobra's MyFly loft adjustable over a trajectory of 3 degrees. The height of your ball flight is therefore perfectly adaptable to what is optimal for your swing. In terms of loft, these clubs can therefore be perfectly integrated into the rest of your set-up.
Cobra Connect: free Arccos Sensor + App
A nice bonus is the free Arccos sensor, which you can order for free at Arccos after purchasing a Cobra AeroJet club or set (with QR code on the club). You can easily attach this sensor to the back of your golf club grip. Then you link your Cobra club(s) wirelessly with the Arccos App which you download for free on your smartphone. You can then use a free trial subscription for 45 days. If you like it, you can convert this into an annual subscription (€ 99.00).
The Arccos App generates data on your performance and progress to improve your handicap. It also contains maps of some 40,000 golf courses worldwide so that you will know your way around virtually everyone.
