Cobra's DarkSpeed 2024 collection of golf clubs looks a lot more daring in design than the somewhat understated Cobra AeroJet clubs of 2023. Although some of last year's technology has been further developed and can be found in the newer DarkSpeed clubs, the originality in 2024 shines through. Even when looking at performance, Cobra has definitely made strides and these Cobra DarkSpeed X Fairway woods are clearly more aggressive and feel more controlled. As an X version, a fine balance has been chosen between power and a lot of forgiveness. Ideal, loft-adjustable all-rounder with hefty muscle!

As with the DarkSpeed drivers, the fairway woods offer the choice between 3 different clubheads that are largely similar in technique but differ in features and details.
This DarkSpeed X version is the most neutral of the three, finding an ideal combination between maximum distance and control on the one hand and forgiveness on the other. If the focus for you is on forgiveness, the DarkSpeed Max is the version with the focus on a bit more technical help to keep the ball "between the lines. The Cobra Darkspeed LS is the Low Spin version for the more advanced, skilled golfer looking for more length, control, and feedback with less ball spin. Ball flight is lower and explosiveness is even greater which does cost some forgiveness. The better golfer won't miss that much.

In terms of technology, existing innovations have also been developed further with the fairway woods, but there is certainly some news to report as well that puts the quality in the DarkSpeed fairway woods at a higher level than was the case with the AeroSpeed woods last season. With the focus on distance, Cobra has taken aerodynamics to the next level which has resulted in a beautiful, streamlined design. Like the drivers, this DarkSpeed X fairway wood has an extra Tungsten weight at the back as well as the front of the club head to minimize spin for great control. In addition, the lower and further forward PWR-BRIDGE provides even higher ball speeds and minimizes spin to achieve better energy transfer to the ball. Also, the PWRSHELL L-cup Clubface / striking surface, has been made larger than last year. This creates more length in the, while the A.I. optimized H.O.T. Face innovation provides more efficient speed & spin across the entire hitting surface.
