The new Garmin Approach Z30 laser range finder with GPS is one of the most accurate laser range finders available. The device also gives you a new perspective on more than 41,000 courses worldwide. Looking through the range finder, you will see the distance display, complemented by a full-colour 2D CourseView overlay for the hole you are currently playing, with distances to obstacles and the start and end of the green.
When you activate the load distance meter, you get the exact distances to within 100 cm of the targets you are aiming at. The Garmin Z30 automatically determines which hole you are currently playing and gives you the correct course layout and par information.
Image stabilisation makes it easier to find the flag in your visor and measure the distance. The smart flag finder provides vibrating feedback when you have found the pin and automatically sets the flag for each hole. After the flag is set, the device adds a detailed 2D view of the green layout, plus distances to the start and end of the green. The image in the range finder shows the hole magnified 6 times (up to 366m) for a clear, crisp view, complemented by map overlays showing the layout of the hole.
The PlaysLike distance feature adjusts distances for shots uphill and downhill based on the difference in altitude between where you are standing and the marked location on the map. This makes it much easier for you to decide which club to use for shots uphill and downhill. And if you are playing a tournament, you can turn PlaysLike distance on or off. There is even a PinPointer feature that shows you the direction on the green for blind shots.
When you measure the distance to an object, the Laser Distance Arc function draws an arc on the 2D orbit map at the distance the laser measures, giving you a good overview of the situation at that distance.
