General
For the largest target group in golf, starters to slightly advanced players, Cobra has introduced the second generation of Cobra Air-X (2) irons for season 2024. These easier-to-play clubs, in this case with steel shafts, are known for bringing more length especially for golfers with quieter swings. Beautiful, forgiving clubs with the flexible H.O.T. Face face face for more ball speed.
The technique
With these second-generation Cobra Air-X(2) irons, you can tell which target group they are made for by the specifications: the somewhat larger, 'game improving' club heads, a huge sweetspot, a lot of weight at the bottom of the club head and a thin but strongly accelerating face make the irons in fact somewhat easier to play. This makes them most suitable for golfers with a slightly higher handicap (18-54).
Also for 2024, some well-known Cobra innovations have been upgraded in these irons. For instance, the huge Cavity Back (hollow space behind the face) and the large sweet spot (E9 innovation) are responsible for better handling, even if a golfer does not yet have perfect technique. The centre of gravity in these irons is placed even lower than in the earlier Cobra Air-X iron series, making it even easier to get the ball in the air. This version also has a slight 'Offset' setting making it easier to hit the ball 'through the ball' and make it hit fuller. The forgiveness is maximised, as you are not always punished harshly for balls that are hit out of tune. The ball flight is higher and therefore nicely predictable. Great clubs for a wide target group!
Irons with graphite or steel shafts?
These Cobra Air-X2 irons 2024 are available with graphite shaft and with steel shafts, depending on your preference. Do you prefer the lightest clubs possible and hate the violent vibration on your hands when you don't hit the ball completely cleanly? Irons with graphite shafts may be more suitable for you than those with steel shafts. Do you hit harder and/or do you prefer heavier, more responsive clubs? Then irons with steel shafts may be more suitable for you.
Standard version
As standard, these super-lightweight steel-shafted clubs are fitted with Ultralite 95-grams Cobra steel shafts and Lamkin R.E.L. Men's Standard 58R Grips.
