In addition to a stylish, almost minimalist design, the latest P790 irons have the features that make discerning golfers happy. In doing so, each iron is different in construction to best suit the task at hand. So expect especially high performance from these 4th generation P790 "Players Irons.
With the new FLTD CG Innovation, TaylorMade strategically positions the center of gravity lowest in the long irons and gradually shifts it higher in the rest of the irons. A new back wall construction varying in thickness optimizes weight distribution for better launch and playability in the long irons with precision and control in the scoring clubs.
The clubhead is forged from 8620 Carbon Steel combined with the Forged 4140 steel L-Face. In addition, SpeedFoam Air Technology provides a controlled, solid feel during ball contact. Vibrations are also dampened by the foam padding.
Also in this 4th generation P-790 irons, Thru-Slot Speed Pockets are used in the longer irons. These provide even more power and launch power.
New in these 2024 irons is the Intelligent Sweet Spot where the face is only 1.56 mm thick at the thinnest spot.
