General
As an all-round sports brand, Mizuno is now a widely seen brand name. When it comes to golf clubs, they have been pushing the envelope very hard for years and have long held the Premium brand designation when it comes to both build quality and innovations. This is evident in Mizuno's JPX-925 Hot Metal HL women's irons. This JPX-925 Hot Metal version has the addition of HL, which makes them easier to play. HL stands for High Launch, giving the ball a slightly higher, more predictable ball flight. This gives starting to (slightly) advanced golfers even more freedom to hit the ball cleanly. A head with an even larger sweet spot minimises mishits and that makes golf a lot more fun. This top-of-the-range manufacture has a superb finish, making the iron sets in particular an ever-growing number of enthusiastic fans.
The technique
Thanks to the Contour Ellipse innovation, Mizuno is able to create a 30% thinner, 1.2mm thick clubface, developing even more speed. For years, JPX irons have delivered maximum energy transfer (has been maximised by R&A regulations). What sets these JPX-925 HM clubs apart is that that energy transfer is now accessible over a larger Core-Area (sweetspot), increasing both power and forgiveness across the entire hitting surface. With Multi-Material Construction, Mizuno combines several types of metal to achieve maximum results. For example, Nickel Tungsten Weigthing placed low in the longer irons provides higher ball flight and a lower sweetspot. The Balance Stability Frame that Mizuno uses for this in these irons, improves control and optimises forgiveness where vibrations and feedback are perfected. In that regard, the Acoustic Sound Ribs also contribute to optimal feel and sound at impact. The Soundbar visible at the back of the club dampens sound pressure and removes tinny/ crackling frequencies. All in all, Mizuno has pulled out all the stops to excel with these irons for the target audience of golfers with Handicap 18 to 54.
