General
In the segment for (somewhat) better golfers, Mizuno developed the Mizuno JPX-925 Hot Metal Pro irons launched in late 2024. Slightly more compact than the standard Hot Metal clubs but clearly different in design and specifications. These JPX-925 Hot Metal Pro clubs deliver much more feedback and controllability, in exchange for some forgiveness. This is safe because better golfers 'lean' on this a bit less than starters. The HM Pro version still has the large sweet spot and the low centre of gravity but this top-of-the-range manufacture with its famously high level of finish gives better golfers the tools to hit that ball flight that with likes. Control therefore reigns supreme.
The technique
The Mizuno JPX925 Hot Metal Pro redefines the performance of an iron that combines power and speed of Nickel Chromoly 4335 with a newly designed CORTECH design where the face is 30% thinner and with a Contour Ellipse face that has a much larger sweetspot . Consistency of distance across the hitting zone has never been greater and predictable in the process, something that is sure to appeal to better golfers.
The balance in these 925 HM Pro irons has also been improved. The addition of extra Tungsten Weight weight layer in the club head adds a height and landing angle element that makes hitting precise strokes on greens easier than ever. Designed for golfers looking for a more compact profile, the Hot Metal Pro offers the same advanced technology in a slimmer, more refined body. With Multi-Material Construction, Mizuno combines various types of metal to achieve maximum results. The Cup Face Geometry of the clubhead consists of one piece with thinned areas all around, increasing the sweetspot for maximum ball speed across the entire face. In that respect, the Acoustic Sound Ribs also contribute to optimal feel and sound at impact. The Soundbar visible at the back of the club dampens sound pressure and removes tinny/ crackling frequencies. All in all, Mizuno has pulled out all the stops to excel with these irons for the target audience of golfers with Handicap 0 to 24.
Standard version
In the standard version, these JPX 925 Hot Metal Pro irons come with 83-gram UST Recoil SmackWrap ES 780 Graphite Shaft and Lamkin ST Hybrid +2 Standard Men's grips.
