This is what TaylorMade says about the bag:
Team TaylorMade athletes will be donning the Commemorative British Open staff bag and headcovers that signify everything royal about this year’s venue. The club received proper royal designation in 1978 when it celebrated its centenary.
Royal Purple is the base colour upon which ribbons of gold encompass the bag’s bottom and top. White flocking TaylorMade logos complete the royal colour wheel.
Subtle details abound on this 2024 Commemorative British Open staff bag. Its purple flanks are checkered with postage stamps and with inlays that alternate between the TaylorMade logo and the number 8. The design pays respect to the iconic 8th hole which faces westwardly toward the Firth of Clyde. The par-3 measures a mere 123 yards and is the shortest hole in British Open history.
The name Ailsa can be found on the valuables pocket and offers another nod to the infamous 8th hole. It was the phrase used by 1887 and 1889 British Open Champion, Willie Park, Jr. to describe the postcard view from the 8th tee box which looks out toward Ailsa Rock on the horizon.
The staff bag’s white TaylorMade logos are made of soft flocking material that’s emblematic of the collars royalty have worn around their coats for centuries.
On the back of the bag, railroad tracks gilded with the number 11 pay homage to the 11th hole. The daunting par-4 requires a long, accurate tee shot over gorse to a blind fairway that’s flanked by out of bounds and railroad tracks on the right side the entire length of the hole.
A 152nd logo is scripted into the gold ribbon around the bag’s top signifying the 152nd playing of the British Open.
Two gold serpents surround the bag’s bottom ring and pay respect to the snake-like creatures found in Royal Troon’s seal.
The Latin phrase TAM ARTE QUAM MARTE is scripted into the bag’s handle. It pays tribute to Royal Troon’s motto which translates to As Much by Skill as by Strength.
